I have been a Christian all my life; I got baptised in the church, I go to church every Sunday, ….but it was only now I understood what Gospel of Luke actually meant

WHAT IS CCBT?

The Church Centric Bible Translation (CCBT) is an emerging paradigm of bible translation wherein the churches take the primary responsibility, for establishing their believers and the church itself.

"It is a translation by the church and for the church"

Over the last decade or so, several church networks in the world not generally connected to each other attempted to make bibles or portions available in their heart languages. Different models started emerging in different nations in a search for new ways of doing bible translation that will be faster cheaper and better.  Some of them called this as Paradigm X bible translation movement not knowing how to achieve a quality-assured bible in every language.

These emerging movements are generally known as CCBT while some may refer to it differently. The common features of these emerging movements are highlighted below. The net result is that the scripture translation is now part of establishing churches with strong biblical foundations.  The thirst for scripture is growing globally among the churches. They no longer have to wait for a completed bible to begin using them.

  • The Books that are to be translated

  • The Order of Translation

  • The acceptability of the quality of translation
